Mango Recipes That Make You Smile

There is something about this fruit that’s extra special. Growing up we would wait for the summer knowing that mango season will be in full swing and we can eat to our heart’s content. Now thanks to global warming, trade and everything else we can buy mangoes all year round. but somehow even now the real pleasure from eating this fruit comes in the summer. I have a picture that my Aunt snapped when I was 6 years old with juice and pulp dribbling down my chin 🙂 happy times – fact of life: mangoes make you smile times 10. Enjoy these mango recipes that make you smile! A lot of them can be converted to smoothies as well.

Mango Wonder

Mango Wonder


  • Condensed milk 1 tin
  • Yogurt whipped 1 ½ cup
  • Fresh cream whipped 1 cup
  • Mango jelly 1 packet dissolved in ½ cup water
  • Chopped mango pieces 2 cups

Mix the first four ingredients in a blender for a minute, pour out and fold in 2 cups mango cubes, pour in a dish and allow to rest. Decorate with the swirls of fresh cream (optional). Want a smoothie instead? Skip the cream and jelly while blending.

Mango Mousse Cake

Ingredients for sponge cake

  • Eggs 3
  • Caster sugar 3 ounce
  • Flour 3 ounce
  • Vanilla essence ½ tsp

Ingredients for filling

  • Mango pulp 1 ½ cup
  • Eggs 3 separated
  • Caster sugar 6 ounce
  • Fresh cream whipped 12 ounces
  • Gelatin powder (dissolved in ¼ cup water) 2 tbsp heaped
  • Fresh mango slices for garnish

Cook 3 egg yolk and 3 ounces sugar in a pan on low flame for 2 minutes, remove and add in 2 tbsp dissolved gelatin mixture. Beat 12 ounces thick cream separately. Now beat 3 egg whites with the remaining 3 ounces of caster sugar. Gradually fold in the cream mixture to the yolk mixture and then fold in the beaten egg whites and the 1 ½ cups of mango pulp. Mix well!
To assemble put the sponge at the bottom of a 9 inch ‘loose bottom’ pan and pour the mousse filling, chill for 4 to 6 hours. Decorate with fresh mango slices and whipped cream.

Mango Soufflé

  • Evaporated milk chilled 1 tin
  • Mango jelly 1 packet
  • Mango puree 1 cup
  • Caster sugar 4 tbsp
  • Fresh cream 4 ounce + 4 ounce
  • Gelatin powder 1 tbsp dissolves in ¼ tsp cup water
  • Custard powder 1 tbsp

Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend for 2 minutes. Chill till firm. Decorate with fresh cream and mangoes.


Mango ice cream trifle

  • Sponge cake of 2 eggs
  • Mango jam 3 tbsp
  • Mango frooto ½ cup
  • Mango ice cream ½ liter
  • Mango chopped 2 cups
  • Raspberries

Ingredients for vanilla custard

  • Milk 3 cups
  • Sugar ½ cup
  • Custard powder 3 tbsp heaped
  • Fresh cream whipped 2-3 tbsp

Cut sponge cake into small pieces and join 2 pieces together by applying 3 tbsps of mango jam in between. Arrange them in a dish and add a ½ cup of mango frooto. Top with a layer of raspberries, mango ice-cream and lastly a thin layer of vanilla custard. Put to set till firm.  Decorate with fresh cream and mangoes.

Mango Something Special


Mango Something SpecialIngredients

  • Bread 4-6 slices (remove the crust)
  • Milk 3 cups
  • Caramel custard 1 packet
  • Fresh cream whipped slightly 1 cup
  • Mango cubes
  • Caramel sauce

Lay bread pieces in a dish; mix 1 packet of the caramel custard mixture in 3 cups of milk and pour on top of the bread slices. Allow it to set, then spread partially whipped cream on top and decorate the top with caramel sauce and mango cubes. Serve chilled

Mango Monte Carlo

  • Sponge cake of 4 eggs
  • Vanilla ice cream 1 liter
  • Mango chopped 1 cup
  • Chocolate chips 4 tbsp
  • Mango juice
  • Praline 1 cup
  • Fresh cream

Cut the sponge cake into 3 layers. Start with the first layer, spread sugar syrup and then 1 liter of ice-cream, 1 cup chopped mangoes , 1 cup praline and cover with the 2nd layer of sponge. Repeat with juice, ice-cream, mangoes, praline and chocolate chips. Add the third layer of cake, spread with whipped cream, mangoes, mango juice, praline and chocolate chips. Serve chilled.

Mango Lassi

Mango Lassi


  • Yogurt 1 cup
  • Milk ½ cup
  • Sugar 3 tbsp
  • Mango chopped 1 cup
  • Crushed ice 1 cup

In a blender put 1 cup yogurt, ½ cup milk, 3 tbsp sugar, 1 cup mango, 1 cup crushed ice and blend well. Serve immediately. Want a smoothie instead? Well this is a smoothie and that too a very healthy one. You can make it vegan by skipping the yogurt and milk and opting for an avocado instead.
